95% of my work is a complete detail on each vehicle I do. One vehicle a day, starting at 8 in morning and usually wrapping up around 6 in the evening and sometimes later.
This is a list of the things that get done to every vehicle I do: 10-12 hrs of work. Prices range from $300-$390 depending on vehicle type. You get what you pay for. I have just under 20 years in business and 30 years of polishing and detailing vehicles. I love what i do and Im not afraid of a hard days work of 12 hours. I am not finished till your car is perfect.
Undercarriage pressure wash that power washes all suspension parts, behind bumper panels, exhaust systems and engine bottoms.
Engine bay sprayed down with cleaner/degreaser, rinsed down and dressed with water based dressing for a satin sheen.
Wheel wells soaked in cleaner/degreaser and power washed very thoroughly. Especially fabric wells that hold road grime and mud. Exposed suspension parts are acid washed to give a brand snew appearance, especially for pick up trucks.
Wheels sprayed down with brake dust remover and power washed spotless inside and out. scrubbing scratches wheels. Brake dust is metal dust. Rubbing scratches so i avoid doing that at all costs on wheels and paint finish
Tires sprayed and scrubbed to make black again instead of brown which is caused by brake dust.
Door jams, including trunk or hatch, sprayed down with cleaner/degreaser and power washed down along with all rubber floor mats.
Total hand wash and clay bar done to exterior of vehicle to remove all environmental fall out including the little orange dots you’ll notice on light colored vehicles. Sometimes an acid wash is necessary in conjunction with clay bar if finish is in rough shape. This step returns paint to a clean and smooth state, ready for polishing so I’m not polishing grit into the finish causing scratching.
While I’m still working with water, I get all the carpet and upholstery, including carpet floor mats, pretreated with a cleaner that lifts dirt and grime and leaves a light citrus scent in preparation of a 210 degree powerful steam cleaning that a three stage vacuum sucks as dry as possible leaving minimal drying time left.
At this time I focus back on the paint finish of your vehicle. After inspecting the finish for swirl lines and scratching, I choose the correct polish, pad type, polisher, speed and pressure I’ll need to safely remove those defects and bring your vehicles finish up to a “wet look” shine. This step can take 2-4 hours alone. I prefer to use a dual action random orbital polisher but will use a high speed for severe swirl mark removal followed up with the dual action with a very fine polish. No burning of paint and no holograms left on finish which is a result of heat. I then follow this up with a machine waxing with a high end German made wax that is then buffed into the finish.
Returning back to the interior, I have an air pressurized tool that both “whips” air and fogs a cleaner into the cracks and crevices of the interior including seat crevices, dash board and all the buttons on dash and doors. Seat rails and vents are a must to be thoroughly cleaned as well. I follow this up with an interior plastics and leather cleaner and shiner that leaves a satin finish that is water based, not silicone.
All the door jams are thoroughly wiped down including all the weather stripping that holds some of the most grime and dirt on your car. They are everywhere on your vehicle including trunk or hatch, engine bay weather stripping, bottom of doors, around windows.
All the windows are rolled down to clean the edges and then all glass is done perfectly without streaking which can be time consuming. I literally take spot lights to check and double check for streaking.
Tires are dressed to a wet durable shine and wheels are gently wiped down as needed.
Tail pipes are properly cleaned of black residue with red shop rag or 0000 steel wool soaked in specific cleaner to remove oil based residue, exhaust soot and minor defects
Entire vehicle is wiped down of any cleaner overspray at end to a perfect shine.
